What Cut flowers are RECYCLABLE!
Would do i mean by recyclable cut flowers?
I have been enjoying flowers for two decades now. With other responsibilities of running a flower business, i deliver cut flowers every Monday to my corporate customers. The old cut flowers i collect every Monday i have been reusing them to gift friends, family, random people and myself.
I want to share the secrets of how is this possible.
Below is a list of cut flowers that you can recycle after 7 days, which you can then enjoy for a further 7 days plus.
Method
Mr Bird of Paradise – Drown the whole cut flower for minimum of 45 minutes in warm water (to be able to pull out second bloom in the beak) or overnight in burped or filtered water.
Mr Lobster Claw – Drown the whole cut flower for minimum of 45 minutes or overnight in burped or filtered water.
Mr Vanda Orchid, Mr Cymbidium Orchid, Mr Phalaenopsis Orchid, Mr Dendrobium Orchid – Drown the whole cut flower for minimum of 45 minutes or overnight in burped or filtered water.
Mr Pineapple Lily – Remove all aged blooms and then drown the whole cut flower for minimum of 45 minutes or overnight in burped or filtered water.
Ms Chrysanthemum – Remove all the leaves and any weak looking blooms off the stem and enjoy the new bare look.
Mr Anthurium – Drown the whole cut flower for minimum 45 minutes or overnight in burped or filtered water.
Ms Hypericum – Remove all the leaves and weak buds off the stem and enjoy the new bare look.
Ms Echinacea – Remove all the petals to enjoy the new bare globe look.
Ms Molucca Balm – Remove all soiled and dry blooms from the stem to enjoy what remains in good health on the stem.
Ms Lecadendron – remove leaves and petals that are dry or spotted. Then spray the whole cut flower with leaf shine.
P.S. after drowning re cut all stems according to their gender and use warm water in vase as warm water travels faster up the stem.
